For more than twenty years, the Perennial Plant Foundation has been proud to support the students in the perennial industry through an academic scholarship and through attendance at the National Perennial Plant Symposium.
The 2022 PPA Foundation Scholarship recipients will receive full access to the entire five-day National Perennial Plant Symposium which includes educational sessions, tours and a trade show, as well as complimentary lodging, and a $1000 stipend.
Undergraduate students who are enrolled in a two or four-year program with a major or minor in horticulture or a related field are eligible to apply. This year, scholarship recipients will attend the National Symposium in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, August 1-5, 2022.
The Perennial Plant Symposium is the largest meeting devoted solely to perennial professionals. You'll have access to all educational sessions at the hotel, hearing innovative ideas. While touring some days with perennial industry experts, you'll explore public and private gardens, perennial nurseries, and garden centers. Network with the more than 200 perennial professionals from across North America and around the Globe.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?
Undergraduate students at a 2- or 4-year institution, with a major or minor in horticulture or a related field.
Students who have at least one quarter or semester remaining, following spring 2022 term.
Students with a minimum 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
Prior Perennial Plant Foundation scholarship recipients are ineligible.

Statement of Purpose:
In 500 words or less, state why you wish to pursue a career in the perennial industry. Describe your career goals and how a scholarship will help you meet them. Include your interest and work with herbaceous perennials.
College Transcript:
Please include a copy of your college transcript or an advising report.
Recommendation Letters:
Three letters of recommendation, including–– at least one from an academic advisor explaining your interest in horticulture and perennials–– and at least one from a perennial industry professional
The Perennial Plant Foundation is a partner with the industry and academia to enhance the perennial industry through research and education. The Foundation was established in 2001 as a charitable non-profit organization. A mission of the Perennial Plant Foundation is to obtain funding to provide student scholarships to enhance the herbaceous perennial industry.
